At 2:50 if there are if there is a quiz at the end of the chapter read the quiz questions. This is what the author thinks are the most important points in the chapter, and they will lead you to what you need to learn while reading the chapter. At 4:50 you were not reading for comprehension when you read the first and last sentences of each paragraph, but rather for exposure

At the end it's all up on the board. Flip through each page seeing the pictures, then go to the end and see if there's a quiz. If there is review the questions even though you don't know the answers, then review all of the section headers and bolded content in the chapter, Then read the first and last sentences in each paragraph, then finally read the whole chapter.
