I feel like I should be able to do something interesting with System Property.

Also maybe we need some kind of event type registry, and one of the events would be a worker doing a handoff. It feels like the higher-level concept in Gas Town here relate to hierarchy, resilience, and some important lifecycle events, and we should probably address all of them.

Observability feels like it should be important, but so far I haven't gotten much into it.
