how I use obsidian
If I am taking a consumption note, then I will extract blocks and preface them with SRC to indicate that this consumption note what is the source of that block.
Pushing towards nodes for concepts. This is a bit like de-stemming. So I tried to preserve the original context as much as possible in my literature notes. This generally means that I don't reword things at all. In which case if I already have a name for the concept that differs slightly. I will add it in the annotation for the block instead of modifying the source.
When, I encounter a new field of study, I start by link not tracked
Basically, you're looking for a system that allows you to quickly consume promiscuously, but aids, arriving in deeper insights. As a tactical matter this means being as fast as possible to capture quick nuggets.
Aiming to have new ideas. Discover adjacent possibilities.
tags vs pages ... I mostly prefer tag pages . First, they are as easy to create as a tag, and second, and more importantly, because tag pages transition to MOCs easily.
The next step, assuming the note becomes a compelling hub, may be to turn it into a Map of content - MOC... MOCs are evergreen notes at the next level of emergence, or simply an Evergreen note. In either case part of that process is likely to be link not tracked
Also, you always have your device with you, so you can quickly down any new ideas.
When I capture notes, I capture them with a specific intention. Generally speaking, I am aiming to accrue insight using a specific set of techniques. First, give a name to some concept, and make it addressable by creating a page for it. Second put some material into the page I just created for the concept. Really, any relationship so you can think of. The idea is to avoid creating link not tracked. Basically, I hope to bump into the idea again naturally. A great place to add something is into one of the maps of content, because part of the use of maps of content is the continued re-assessment and organization within them. That re-assessment causes you to bump into these ideas again, and to need to process them in order to better characterize them into groupings within the map. It's a bit like link not tracked. link not tracked

For sections that I think are interesting, but I have not yet transcluded anywhere, I'll add #use, meaning I expect it to use it somewhere eventually. Once I use it, I'll remove that.
